At the ICT&S Center, research project in the field of human-computer interaction (Advanced User Interface Engineering), the vacancy of a scientific research fellow (doctoral student) is to be filled:
- Scheduled commencement of duties: as soon as possible
- Duration of employment: 2 years, renewal possible
- Hours per week: 30 - 40
- Working hours: negotiable
- Duties: scientific support in the field of human-computer interaction and advanced user interface engineering (international research projects or Christian-Doppler-Laboratory "Contextual Interfaces" respectably), especially in the field of 3D interface prototyping & simulation, multimodal usability/user experience measurement (e.g. eye-tracking, physiological measuring); contextual interface engineering; the tasks include the conception of usability engineering tools, basic technical concepts and basic tools or the development of prototypes on various platforms, respectively.
- Requirements: completed Diploma or Master Study of computer science or related technical disciplines, as well as other relevant interdisciplinary areas (e.g. design)
- Desired qualifications: Previous knowledge in the fields of human-computer interaction and user experience tools (e.g. eye-tracking), according to the subareas (as mentioned above): signal processing, modern software architectures and tools/platforms (e.g. flash, mobile development platforms), 3D modeling/design/tools (e.g. StudioMax, CryEngine), established knowledge on coding (e.g. Java, C++), Web technologies, sensor technologies, experienced in research projects and project work.
- Desired personal qualities: interdisciplinary/scientific/experimental concern, interest in developing tools and prototypes, capacity for teamwork, operational readiness, ability of working independently, fluency in spoken and written English, accurateness, toughness, flexibility, creativity

- Scheduled commencement of duties: as soon as possible
- Duration of employment: 2 years, renewal possible
- Hours per week: 30 - 40
- Working hours: negotiable
- Duties: scientific support in the field of human-computer interaction and usability/user experience research (international research projects or Christian-Doppler-Laboratory "Contextual Interfaces" respectably), especially in the field of ambient assisted living/elderly interfaces, human-robot interaction, persuasive interfaces/technologies, automotive interfaces; the tasks include the methodical analysis of usage requirements, interface conceptions/interface prototyping and the performance of user studies (laboratory- or field study).
- Requirements: completed Diploma or Master Study of computer science, communication studies, sociology, psychology or other relevant interdisciplinary areas/neighboring disciplines (design, behavior science, etc.)
- Desired qualifications: Previous knowledge in the fields of human-computer interaction, knowledge on quantitative and qualitative methods of the social sciences (e.g. ethnography) or knowledge on experimental methods respectively, knowledge on statistics (methods, tools); experienced in research projects and project work.
